Leading a sales team is a complex and demanding role, and it’s one that doesn’t necessarily require you to have been the top sales performer on the floor.
Thank you Val Ball for your feedback and question. There might not be a "one fits all scenario". However I do believe that any good and truly "Sales Leader" should be trained in coaching his/her team.
And it is not so much their (Sales Leaders) fault than maybe a lack from the organization itself to believe that since you have been a Rep yourself, you should know how to support and empower other to be successful.
